My Son is A Freaking Genius
My two-and-a-half-year-old son is smart. (Yes, I know all parents say this, but go with me here.) He's incredibly talkative for his age, knows some surprisingly big words, has a sense of humor, and can count quite high. Like any sane parents, we assume he's a genius.
Then, yesterday...this happened. He was standing around talking to my parents and I when, all of a sudden, he blurts out: "Five and two is seven!"
"Did he just add five and two?" my mom asked.
It sure as hell sounded like it. So I turned to him. "Nate, what's five plus two?" I asked.
"Seven!" he said.
Oh my god, I thought. He's two and he can add.
My son is Einstein.
I decided to test the theory.
"Nate, honey, what's one plus two?"
My parents and I leaned in, waiting for the inevitable brilliance.
My son thought about it for a second, smiled, and then answered triumphantly: "Black!"
One plus two equals black.
Good thing he's cute, too. ;)

What a lil' cutie!
He's brilliant and adorable! I love moments like that.
Ha ha ha ha! You are hilarious. I still think your son's a genius. One of my twins would answer Red to every question he was asked :)
Awwwwww what a cutie!!!!!! I think it's so cute that all parents think there little ones are little smarty pants hehe... I always call My daughter smarty pants lol....
He is so cute. This cracked me up. I'm convinced my kids are geniuses with everything they do. And you know what? They are. I don't care what anybody says.
I love this! One of our kids said "green" for everything. And I mean EVERYTHING. What's your name? Green. Want more milk? Green. It was hilarious. Unfortunately I can't remember which kid it was. Hopefully I wrote it down somewhere.
